About DCtheDJ

DCtheDJ (Daryl) was born in Parma, Ohio and moved with his family to Plymouth, Indiana when he was 5 years old. He played little league baseball growing up while developing his love of music, mostly because of his mother always playing music. He then moved to Shorewood, Illinois where he attended high school in Joliet, Illinois. While listening to mostly heavy metal / hair metal in school, he started to develop interest in all types of music. He did a music review column on his school newspaper while in high school.

DC attended some college eventually going to broadcasting school. He produced and co-hosted his own music video shows (Rock Box and Jus Kickin It). He also DJ'd at many local sports bars/night clubs in the south suburbs (TNT, Players, Sports Bar, Earl's Cafe, WC Flicks) honing his mixing skills. Always having interest in becoming a radio DJ, he helped out / interned wherever he could get in at. In 2001, DC got married and in 2003 had his first daughter, who is a big fan of today's hard rock/metal. In 2007 the three of them moved back to Indiana in the Indianapolis area where he currently resides.

In addition to the All Inclusive Radio Family of five stations (Big Hitties, Rockcast, The Shark, The Gr80's and Mother Truckin Radio) was also an on-air personality for WYRZ in Indiana for 4 years. He now hosts THE SHOW WITH DC on Rockcast Radio from 7pm-Midnight Eastern along with WILD WEEKENDS on Wild 95 Saturday/Sunday from 3-7pm Eastern. He also produces and hosts the syndicated rock shows "Back To The Arena" and "Hair On The Air". Personally DCtheDJ is a HUGE, HUGE fan of the Cleveland Indians, yes he still calls them the INDIANS, and also loves spending time riding on his Harley's of course, playing music loud!

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? Never really thought about it... maybe Jackson or Jax
Where were you born? Parma, Ohio
Where did you grow up? Plymouth, Indiana mostly... then Shorewood, Illinois
Who did you look up to growing up? My Dad... and sadly, people like Gene Simmons, and some Chicago DJs
What are your best characteristics? My humor. I try to make people laugh. That makes me happy.
What are your favorite things about yourself? My music knowledge and my quick learning skills.
Which of your parents are you closest to? Sadly, both of my parents are gone.
Which of your parents are you more like? Probably my Dad, but I see a little of both in me.
What is your best physical feature? Haha... do I have one? I have been told I have "warm eyes"... so I guess that's it.
What is your biggest accomplishment? Being a Dad... love my daughter
What is your biggest fear? Dying young... missing out on seeing my daughter grow up to be an adult.
What is your biggest regret? Being shy in high school.

What inspires you? The desire to be happy... I want to wake up every day excited to do what I enjoy.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in your life? Seen a lot being in loss prevention watching cameras... lol

Who is the biggest pack rat you know? I guess it was my mom... since I had to help clean out her basement. lol

How does music matter to you? It's everything... the new stuff and the old stuff. So many memories tied to music.
